The Cinematic World is ending the year with a Bang!

Ready film buffs? You better, the coming months will be epic, and we mean EPIC. We’re approaching the final countdown for some of the biggest movies we’ve been waiting all year for.

Here’re the movies that are on the top of our must-watch list.

Opens 21 Sep

The trailer debuted with much anticipation, and as expected, it is as stylish as their fashion sense, leaving us wanting more.

In this action-packed and humor-filled second instalment of the story, our spy heroes face a new challenge when their headquarters are destroyed and the world is held hostage. In a new adventure that tests their agents’ strength and wits to the limit, these two elite secret organizations band together to defeat a ruthless common enemy, in order to save the world, something that’s becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy…

Opens 5 Oct

Trust the producers to tease with such a spectacular first movie, then only come back with a sequel 35 years later! 1982’s Blade Runner also starring Harrison Ford was undeniably one of the most acclaimed science-fiction films, it is no wonder its sequel is this highly anticipated.

LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

Opens 26 Oct

One of Marvel’s most loved superhero will be returning to the big screen this October! With 136 million views in 24 hours, the trailer of Thor: Ragnarok is Marvel and Disney’s most watched trailer. Need we say more?

In Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization. But first, he must survive a gladiatorial fight against a friend from work, the incredible Hulk!

Opens 16 Nov

Can’t get enough of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman? Well, less than 6 months after the release of the wildly popular record breaker Wonder Woman, she’ll be back in Justice League, and joined by her DC buds Batman, Flash, Aquaman and Superman!

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work to recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may be too late to save the planet.

Opens 30 Nov

Everyone is a suspect on the Orient Express.

Boasting a massive A-list cast, and with a trailer so beautifully shot and edited, this will be a definite hit, especially if you’re a fan of murder mysteries.

The only thing we really didn’t like is Johnny Depp being the one who’s murdered.

An adaptation of Agatha Christie’s classic 1934 novel, Murder on the Orient Express tells the tale of thirteen strangers stranded on a train, where everyone’s a suspect of a murder on board this famous train. Belgian detective Hercule Poirot must race against time to solve the puzzle before the murderer strikes again.

Opens 14 Dec

This one needs no convincing.

Rey took her first steps into a larger world in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and will continue her epic journey with Finn, Poe, and Luke Skywalker in the next chapter of the continuing Star Wars saga.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi would be the late Carrie Fisher’s last onscreen appearance as Princess, now General, Leia. Fans would not want to miss this chance to bid a final farewell to the late actress.
