Happenings in August Night Lights Installation

Every August, Singapore Night Festival transforms the streets of the Bras Basah Bugis precinct, with each year themed differently.

The signature highlight of the festival are the interactive light installations and the showcase of international acts.

Watch the streets bring out Singapore’s heritage, arts and culture in a different light from 17-25 August 2018.

Here are some of the line-ups

18 – 26 August 2018, 7.30pm – 12.00am
National Museum of Singapore, Façade

CONVOLUTIONS BY EZ3KIEL (FR)

French group EZ3kiel illustrates visual arts through the art of mapping relying on the precise use of the art of light and laser.

18 – 26 August 2018, 7.30pm – 12.00 am
SMU, School of Information Systems

DREAM CITY WINDOW BY UNTITLED PROJECT

Experience art through this user-generated interactive visual projection, inspired by the heart and soul of Singapore’s culture. Watch your digital silhouette on screen interwoven with abstractions of Singapore’s culture.

18 – 26 August 2018, 7.30pm – 12.00 am
National Design Centre, Main Atrium

FLOCK BY KMA (UK)

Experience the moment of Tchaikovsky’s 1876 ballet, Swan Lake, through an immersive space. It combines light, sound and projections with live motion tracking technology. The music is drawn from the original score but the stage opens up into an explorative space examining the themes of the scenario.

18 – 26 August 2018, 7.30pm – 12.00 am
Armenian Church

SECRECY BY RATPACK

Create some space away from the demands of the society and make a quiet, undisturbed space for yourself. The garden will be bathed in a spectrum of calm neon tones, bringing to mind energy, the blue flame of a stove top, a flash of lightning across the sky. It is a subtle reminder of the magic of electricity as the Armenian Church was one of the first buildings in Singapore to have electricity.

18 – 26 August 2018, 7.30pm – 12.00 am
National Museum of Singapore, Stamford Green (Upper deck of escalator of Fort Canning Park)

THE FLOWER OF LIFE AND THE INFINITE SELF BY STARLIGHT ALCHEMY

A geodesic PVC dome with a tessellated fabric roof resembling the flower of life, and interior walls mounted with geometrically arranged convex mirror forms the dynamic reflections of visitors as you tour around the dome.
